Daniel Thon Duop is a passionate health professional and advocate for universal health coverage, with more than 20 years of experience leading public and community health services, health promotion, and disease prevention initiatives in hard-to-reach areas of South Sudan.
Working alongside government partners, he helped expand access to quality health services in underserved communities — contributing to a significant reduction in infant mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases. He was also a persistent advocate for skilled birth attendance, helping improve maternal and child health outcomes.
A global citizen, Daniel earned his medical degree in Cuba in 2000, before immigrating to Canada; he went on to complete a Master's degree in Public Health in the Netherlands in 2016 and a Diploma in Community Service and Addiction. Drawing on this international experience and education, he is now focused on making a meaningful impact in his home country as well adopted community of Calgary, Alberta, through health administration, health promotion, and mental health management.
Beyond his professional work, Daniel serves as Head Coach of a basketball club for South Sudanese youth and is an active member of the Alberta International Medical Graduate Association.

Whilst being Sudanese by Birth, Ibraham emigrated to Canada 15 years ago to attend University and further his education in Accountancy, Telecoms, Communications, Automations and Robotics.
He then gained experience in the field, installing and operating computer- based systems before managing the building of switches, networks and access points.
In the last 5 years Ibrahim has also established a wholesale business importing clothing and shoes from Canada and USA into South Sudan and then distributing Nationwide.
